Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE)

PPIE is where patients and the public use their lived experiences to work collaboratively with researchers. This partnership helps to make the research we do more relevant and ensures that it will benefit people and communities.

PPIE is an integral part of the research completed within our group. We start our projects by arranging conversations with patients and the public to discuss our initial ideas, and this involvement continues across the life of the project.

We pride ourselves on working with diverse populations. We help and support those who want to be involved in research (e.g. providing materials in other languages and providing training), and we pay people for their time and expertise.

So if there is a particular project that you would like to be involved with or you’d like more information about our PPIE work in general, please get in touch with our PPIE Coordinator (Jacob) using the button below.

Our Approach

Our focus on PPIE began as Steph’s passion project when she was at Imperial College London, but over time it has evolved into something more. We’re proud of the learning we’ve done along the way and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Good communication

Through every step, we've focused on building great communication with our patient, public and community groups. Communication is one of our core values and allows us to produce truly collaborative world leading research.

Meaningful actions

We aim to have meaningful interactions with our patient, public and community groups. We don’t just want to tick a box, we want to contribute to lasting partnerships that are built with purpose and stand the test of time.
